Student Achievements Showcase Impact of (603) Challenge Gifts
A gold medal at the NCAA skiing national championships, safer lakes throughout the Granite State – and a strawberry named Terry.
These are just a few things made possible in part by the (603) Challenge, UNH’s signature annual fundraiser. The generosity of donors makes a significant impact every year on UNH students, who continue to accomplish remarkable things as a result of the support.
Students on all of our campuses find opportunities that shape their UNH experience thanks to every dollar given during the challenge. It was students who managed to bring home a skiing title, helped protect New Hampshire lakes from cyanobacteria blooms, and worked to generate a brand-new variety of strawberry affectionately dubbed “Terry.”
The challenge is right around the corner this year, kicking off April 7 and running through April 10. During the challenge, you can increase your impact by unlocking matching gifts and scoring additional bonuses. You can also advocate as a (603) Champion by encouraging fellow Wildcats to make a gift and spreading the word on social media.
Beyond those mentioned above, students have shared a host of things made possible for them in part because of gifts to the challenge. One student turned a business idea into a real company, another is helping students across the state discover what’s possible through STEM, and a third is helping strengthen healthcare in rural New Hampshire.
Others are helping understand the fundamental physics of Earth’s upper atmosphere, building futures in patent law, and putting a passion for health into action. Athletes at Northeast Passage are playing “the sport we love” in sled hockey, while others are completing experiential opportunities, including a hands-on legal internship.
The best part of The (603) Challenge is you get to choose how you direct your gift. Inspire students like those mentioned above or give to any area of the university that means the most to you. Last year was another record-breaking challenge, and you can help us make this year once again the best challenge yet. Get in on the action beginning April 7.
